smart, the iconic automotive brand, goes from strength to strength in the UK, smashing sales records ahead of the launch of the new four seater model, the smart forfour.
March 2004 was the most successful month for sales of the revolutionary smart fortwo, with 1116 registrations. The fortwo (originally called city-coupé and cabrio) first went on sale in Britainin October 2000.
With 491 registrations, March was also the best month for roadster sales in the UKsince the compact and curvaceous model was launched in September 2003.
These two results combined mean that March was also the best ever month for overall smart sales, with 1607 registrations. This is a rise of 16.5%over the previous best sales month: September 2003.
